Random advice on moving an organization forward…

Was struck by the truth of this observation by a good friend of mine — who is a planner in the nuclear energy field — to organizational success:

It still seems to come down to having the right people. And “right,” in my experience, turns out to be the folks who take firm ownership and responsibility and find a way to succeed despite systems, processes and other people being in their way. Strategic planning in that context becomes setting a vision for an endpoint and letting these kind of folks loose to figure it out.
