RealtyTrac: Va. foreclosures down in November

Foreclosures in Virginia dropped 16.3% from October to November, according to RealtyTrac. But that’s the good news. The really good news is that foreclosures dropped 19.4% compared to November 2008. Only four states (Rhode Island, Vermont, Nevada, and Wyoming) had a bigger drop in their foreclosure rate from year to year; the country as a whole saw foreclosures increase more than 18%.

All isn’t rosy, of course; Virginia ranks 22nd in the country (meaning only 21 states have a higher foreclosure rate). But it’s good to see the rate dropping month to month and year to year, no?
