NAR: membership down 7%

imageAccording to the latest RE Intel Report, NAR lost more than seven percent of its membership in 2009 (7.09% for those who like the details — that’s 84,884 Realtors®).

It ended the year with 1,112,645 members. Its highest membership total was in October 2006 (i.e., the Good Ol’ Days) when membership reached 1,370,758.

Hit hardest: Washington (down 17%), Utah (down almost 16%), and Georgia (down more than 14%).

Only Texas and Mississippi added members in 2009, growing 1.9% and 0.09% respectively.
