DPOR has a new director: Gordon Dixon appointed by Gov. McDonnell

According to WSLS, the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) has a new director, appointed recently by Gov. Bob McDonnell:

Dixon recently worked in corporate affairs at Altria Client Services Inc. and before that, led the Virginia chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business. He’s also worked with the Home Builders Association and the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce.

We reported earlier about Gov. McDonnell’s decision to not reappoint former DPOR director Jay DeBoer, who oversaw a significant improvement in customer service at the state agency, which is responsible for regulating dozens of licensed professionals in the Commonwealth.
