VAR member receives $1000 NAR Volunteering Works grant

Many of our country’s wounded soldiers are transported to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC to recover from their injuries. Family members of the wounded often arrive in DC with little more than a carry-on bag only to find out that their loved one will be hospitalized for months.

That’s when Cynthia Dwyer of Weichert REALTORS® in Vienna steps in. She volunteers by providing clothing to families who are visiting Walter Reed to be near their loved ones. For this, Cynthia was selected to receive a $1000 grant to fund her initiative from NAR’s Volunteering Works program (an off-shoot of the Good Neighbor program).

You can read more about Cynthia and her community involvement on Page 11 of  your July/August REALTOR® Magazine. And if you see her around town, take a moment to salute her efforts.
