2012 doesn’t look good to Mortgage Bankers Assn.

Polishing off its crystal ball, the Mortgage Bankers Association said it expects 2012 to be a weak year for mortgages — it anticipates about $931 billion in originations, the lowest since 1997. (Compare this year, where the MBA said it expects to see about $1.1 trillion in originations.)
