Home improvement on the rise

According to the good folks over at BuildFax (who track home repair and remodeling data), remodeling projects in the U.S. this August rose 29% over the year before, continuing an upward trend that’s 22 months long.

It's been going up for a quite a while

The index is based on permit applications, so it doesn’t take into account the cost of the project, nor smaller ones (or ones where the homeowner didn’t get a permit).
