Average 30-year mortgage rate up slightly

The average rate of a 30-year mortgage was 4.08% last week, up from 3.92% the week before. Amusingly, The Wall Street Journal referred to this increase (a whopping 0.16%!) as a “leap” — “Rates on 30-year mortgage leap above 4%.”

Perhaps next week they’ll skyrocket to 4.11%, or plummet to 4.02%.
