VAR staff changes

Two new people have joined the VAR family. (That’s “family” in the close-knit, work-together, occasional-barbecue sense, not in the Godfather/Sopranos sense, FYI.)

Kathy Diradour and Bob Hill have come on board as political field representatives — she’ll handle the central region, while he’s covering the southwest part of the state.

So what are political field reps?

Their job is to help further VAR’s political and public policy agenda by working with local associations and brokers. In other words, Kathy and Bob are liaisons of a sort, helping local organizations with their efforts in city councils and town halls — efforts that supplement VAR’s statewide programs.

Put another way, a field rep “will instruct, advise, and assist local associations in effective methods to affect outcomes in elections and in debates over policies relevant to Realtor interests.”

Kathy and Bob are our first two reps in the program, which we hope to expand to other regions of the state. So if you’re in either the central or southwest parts of Virginia, you might be meeting one of them at a local association or brokerage meeting. Welcome aboard, Kathy and Bob!
