Washington assn also debunks 3.8% tax myth

They’ve got a little more guts than we do, I’ll say. The folks at the Washington Association of Realtors have created a shortish video, “Myth Blasters Transfer Tax Myth,” that also debunks the whole 3.8% real estate tax nonsense.

And click here to see all the other times we’ve debunked this myth, only to have it come back again. Gotta love politics.

    Nicely done video, but it is not completely accurate. The “Gain” on a property is not the difference between the Sales Price and the Mortgage amount. Can’t figure out how they got that wrong. The “Gain” is the difference between the Sales Price and the Original Purchase Price less any improvements.
