Charlottesville Realtors help seniors fix their homes

Big kudos to our friends over at the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors. They’re working with the Albemarle Housing Improvement Program to raise money to help some senior citizens fix their homes — everything from plumbing fixes to roof repairs.

According to the Charlottesville Newsplex . . .

plumbing fixes, to patching roofs. Board of Realtors member, Debbie Cash, says the changes, are all about making seniors feel safe and independent at home.

"There are over 200 seniors currently on a waiting list for some sort of refurbishing of their homes that they currently live in such as handicapped access, painting, roofing, plumbing," said [CAAR member Debbie] Cash. "Whatever they need,to solidify independence where they live."

They hope to raise at least $30,000 by the end of June.
