Four hours of CE — on something different

This is a treeHere’s a chance to earn four hours of CE/PL and probably learn about something different — and something a lot of folks don’t know about.

The Virginia Realtors Land Institute and Virginia Tech have partnered to offer “Real Forestry for Real Estate” — a course that will help you not only sell land to prospective clients, but be able to give them useful information about managing their property. (No prior knowledge of trees is necessary!)

You might figure that your market has always been single-family homes in the suburbs. Great. But there’s a lot of land out there, and expanding your knowledge is always a good thing.

Or how about this: Think of this as an interesting change of pace from the CE you’re used to taking. If you’re gonna take a course, why not learn something completely new?

The details:

When: May 8, 2013; 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Where: VAR’s classroom in Glen Allen (10231 Telegraph Road, 23059)

Fee: $25.00 (includes lunch, materials, and four hours CE or PL elective credit)

Really interesting concept. We don’t have anything like that in Australia, it makes sense to be able to advise a client on something like tree care.

  2. Emmett says:

As an owner of a small tree service company in Raleigh, I would love to see this idea move south a state. Any time we can get realtors involved in tree management and tree care is a great day. Homeowner rely on real estate agents for expert advice and a little training like this can go a long way toward constructive results.
