The Greater Augusta Association of REALTORS® was one of several prestigious supporters of a “Business at Breakfast” event hosted by the Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce. The event spotlighted the past year of economic development progress in the Staunton/Waynesboro/Augusta area. All three areas saw growth over the last year, attracting some new companies to the area and the expansion of many existing businesses, which helps both the jobs and the housing markets.

Another highlight of the event was a keynote presentation from the Virginia Chamber of Commerce CEO Barry DuVal. Barry spoke about the in-progress Blueprint Virginia initiative, in which stakeholders from all business sectors from across the state are participating to develop a strategic plan for Virginia’s economic future.

There are a few more opportunities to hear more about this initiative coming up at these regional strategic discussions:

  • June 21: Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce Blueprint Event
  • June 22: Senator Warner’s Leadership Summit
  • July 15: Northern Neck Blueprint Economic Forum

Hats off to the Greater Augusta Association for supporting this event!
