VAR Public Policy Committee holds first meeting to consider 2017 legislation

On Wednesday, the Virginia Association of REALTORS® Public Policy Committee (PPC) held its first meeting in the member-driven process of developing VAR’s legislative package for the 2017 Virginia General Assembly Session. Local associations and individual REALTORS® submitted 46 proposals that were reviewed and debated during the meeting.

The next step of the process will occur during VAR’s Annual Convention, when the PPC will finalize the legislative package recommendations, which will then be considered for approval by the VAR Board of Directors.

In addition to formulating VAR’s agenda for next year, the PPC will meet regularly during the 2017 Session to review and recommend action on introduced legislation that has an impact on the real estate industry and private property rights.
